Calculation Formulas

We use the Principle of Superposition: simply add up the effects of every source charge.

1. Electric Potential (V)

Scalar sum of potentials from each charge:

V = k · (Q / r)

2. Electric Field Strength (E)

Vector sum of fields from each charge:

E = k · (Q / r²)

3. Coulomb Force (F)

Force acting on the probe charge:

F = Qprobe · E

Where:

  • k = 8.99 × 10⁹ (Coulomb constant)
  • Q = Source charge value
  • r = Distance from source to probe
